Know more about Gen3 ride Ebike error codes

Similar to most electronic devices, Gen3 ride ebikes are equipped with an error detection system, which can indicate a problem or issue. Understanding these error codes can help us diagnose and troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively for proper maintenance and repair of the ebike.

Error Code Description Possible Causes Solutions
Error 24 Motor Hall Sensor Fault

a nicked wire, faulty joint or bad connection

Check motor wiring
Error 26 Communication Error Loose connections, damaged wires, faulty part Ensure secure connections, replace defective parts
Error 22 Throttle Signal Abnormality Faulty throttle grip, obstructions, sensor malfunction Recalibrate throttle, check wiring
Error 25 Brake Sensor Failure Obstructions, damaged wires, defective sensor Remove any obstructions, check wiring
Error 23 Motor Phase Fault with motor phase winding Check motor wiring

Error 24: Motor Hall Sensor Fault

This error indicates a problem with the motor's Hall sensors, which are responsible for detecting the position and speed of the motor. It may result from damaged wiring or sensor components.

Solution:

  • Reconnect the motor wire. Inspect the wiring connections between the motor and the controller end.
  • Ensure that your motor and controller connections are secure and free from damage or corrosion.
  • Replace a new motor or controller.

Error 26: Communication Error

This error typically indicates a poor connection between ebike display and controller.

How to diagnose?

  • Please verified your controller, display and battery power cord are all connected well.
  • 1. Unplgged sensor, motor, throttle, brake sensor and headlight cables(at this moment, only display cable was connected)
    2. Turn on the display
    3. Check if the display still poped up an error 26
  • If the error 26 disappeared, please follow the below steps.
    1. Only re-connect the motor cable (at this moment, only motor and display cables were connected)
    2. Turn on the display
    3. Check if the display still poped up an error 26
  • If error 26 still does not exist, please keep the motor cable connected. Then you can connect the sensor cable. (at this moment, only sensor, motor and display cables was connected)
    For example:
If the error 26 poped up after re-connecting the sensor cable, your bike problem is related to the sensor.

If error 26 still does not exist, you can connect the throttle cable. (at this moment, throttle, sensor, motor and display cables was connected)

    For example:
If the error 26 poped up after re-connecting the throttle cable, your bike problem is related to the throttle.

If error 26 still does not exist, you can connect the headlight cable. (at this moment, headlight, throttle, sensor, motor and display cables was connected)

    For example:
If the error 26 poped up after re-connecting the throttle cable, your bike problem is related to the headlight.

Error 22: Throttle Fault

An Error 022 on the LCD display often indicates a throttle issue.

Solution:

  • Reconnect the throttle wire.
  • Ensure that your throttle connections are secure and free from damage or corrosion.
  • Make sure your throttle handle has returned to the original position.
  • Remove any obstructions from the throttle.
  • Replace a new throttle.

Error 25: Brake Fault

An Error 025 on the LCD display often indicates a brake issue.

  • Please verified your brake levels on both sides has returned to the original position.
  • Please remove any obstructions from the brake.
  • Please check the brake cable for damage.

Error 23: Motor Phase Fault

The motor phase fault typically indicates a problem with the motor's windings, the controller, or the connections between them.

Solution:

  • Reconnect the motor wire. Inspect the wiring connections between the motor and the controller end.
  • Ensure that your motor and controller connections are secure and free from damage or corrosion.
  • Replace a new motor or controller.
